Guidelines for selected applicants:
Selected applicants will be required to pay a $300 participation fee ($150 for short-length works) for which they will receive:
Two performances of their work during the festival week in a fully equipped theater. Festival participants must provide their own cast, crew and technical staff- we do not produce individual shows.
Approximately four (two for short-length works) hours of rehearsal time in the space.
Inclusion in all of the festival’s publicity and promotion materials
50% of the box office earnings from the performances of their work (25% for short-length works)
Free access to all festival performances
Please note:
While the festival cannot guarantee at this time financial support for out- of-town and international applicants, we will make any effort to assist applicants with their travel arrangements and whenever possible with their costs. However we strongly encourage international applicants to start looking for funding resources through institutions and sponsors in their countries early on. The festival will provide artists who need a visa with the necessary documents (letter of invitation) but filing and obtaining a visa is the artists' responsibility. We advise successful applicants to inquire about the process and type of visa they may need as early as possible.
In some cases, artists who live and work full time in the MENA region may be exempt from paying the participation fee. Exemption will be determined on a case by case basis and will be applied when necessary to encourage participation from the region. Please contact us for more details.
